Poonch, Aug 27: At least six persons are trapped in two different
rivers in Poonch amid spate in water level following non stops rains
in the region, officials said on Thursday.

They said that four persons are trapped in the river near Salotri BSF
check post in Jhulass village and they have been identified as
Mohammad liaqat (26) son of Mohammad Latif, Mohammad Sadiq (27) son of Abdul Majid, Qamardin (33) and Mohammad Ashraf (25) son of Mohammaddin.

Also, they said, two persons are trapped in Khanter
River. They said rescue operation has been launched by SDRF, locals and civil administration.

SSP Poonch Ramesh  Angral told GNS that efforts are underway to
rescue all these six persons.

“More reinforcements have been rushed to the areas to rescue these
persons,” he added. (GNS)
