Kangan, July 4: Scores of villagers from Gutlibagh Ganderbal Saturday staged protest against the missing of ‘unsound’ man.

The locals assembled in Preng Kangan area and appealed authorities to help them in tracing the missing youth whom they identified as Mudasir Ahmed Khan son of Sarfaraz Ahmed.

The protesters were demanding to cut water supply to the Power Canal which originates from Preng as they apprehend that the missing unsound youth might have drowned in the said Canal and stoppage of water supply would make easier for the protesters to trace and find out the missing youth in case he would have been drowned.

However the concerned authorities are reluctant in agreeing to the demand of protesters. An official told news agency KNT that a decision may be taken in this regard; however, it seems impossible as of now.

Another official said that they are looking into the matter and decision will be taken in this regard.

The protesters blocked the road while Kangan Police pacified them with the assurance that matter will be raised with the concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, sources informed that the body of the said missing youth has been recovered from Gutlibagh Power Canal Number 12,000. Police have took possession of the body and sent it for post mortem. (KNT)
