Srinagar, Aug 8, KDC: The fight against the COVID-19 gets tougher for the residents of many areas in Srinagar who are facing an acute shortage of water supply for the last two weeks.

Locals from many areas told news agency Kashmir Dot Com-(KDC) that the areas facing water shortage include Shalpora, area of Alochi Bagh, Basanth Bagh, Shaheed Gunj, Malla Bagh, Budshah Nagar, Habba Kadal, Aloochi Bagh, and some more areas of Downtown Srinagar.

Firdous Ahmad, a 40-year-old resident of Basant Bagh in Srinagar said for the last one month they are not receiving a normal water supply.
Another local from Habba Kadal said that they have been raising the issues with the concerned department, but nothing has happened so far. “The water supply we get is insufficient to cater to our demands. Nobody is listening to us in times of COVID-19 crisis, while we are left at the mercy of God to deal with the water shortage of our own,” he said.
The Srinagar residents appealed to the administration to restore water supply in the area and ensure uninterrupted water supply during the ongoing scorching heat. (KDC)
