Handwara, Aug 19 (KNO): A gunfight broke out between the militants and government forces at Ganipora area of Kralgund in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a combined operation was launched after specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area following which the exchange of gunfire took place at Ganipora Kralgund.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted, “Encounter has started at Ganipora Kralgund area of Handwara. Police and security forces are on the job.”
