Jammu, May 16 (GNS): A Superintendent of an examination centre and his deputy have been placed under suspension by Directorate Education Jammu amid allegations of allowing mass copying in Reasi district of Jammu.

“Pending enquiry into the conduct in terms of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, Master Sharief-Ud-Din (Superintendent) and teacher Ashiq Ahmad (Deputy Superintendent) of 10th Exam center No. 5903 High School Jamslan, Zone Mahore are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” reads an order issued by the DSEJ, Anuradha Gupta.

“During the period of suspension, they shall remain attached with Chief Education Office Reasi,” the order added, a copy of which lies with GNS.
The order followed surfacing of a video and photographs, showing mass copying by students of 10th class in Bi-annual Science paper which was held on May 11 in the examination centre.

In the video, the youth in scattered groups are seen helping the examinees with the chits from outside the examination centre.

Locals of the area also approached the CEO with a written complaint against the staff including Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent for allowing mass copying.

They alleged that the staff was allowing the mass copying every year against hefty bribes.

The video and pictures in possession with GNS showed the staff on exam duty supplying examination related material to nearly 30 candidates.

The locals of the area had urged Governor-led administration to look into the matter and take strict action against the staff involved in the mass copying practice. (GNS)
