Baramulla, Aug 20, KDC: Justice is deluding to a Pattan family from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district whose head member was murdered by a group of people some 22 years ago.

Police station Pattan had arrested 17 people on charges of murdering an elderly man Ghulam Ahmad Rather son of Abdul Gafar, a resident of Makipora Khoi Pattan.

The formal FIR vide number 71/1998 under section 302, 447, 334, 336, 148 and 147 registered at police station Pattan, reads that a group comprising six assailants hit the Ghulam Ahmad rather with an iron rod resulting his death.The case is still pending in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Baramulla.
“All the accused were granted bail and roaming free from past 22 years. Its humble request to the court to take up the case on speedy basis so that culprits will get justice,” Lateefa Bano the daughter of deceased to KDC.

I was just 6 year old when assailants killed my father over a personal dispute. Now I am 28 and when I look at these murderers roaming free, doing their daily business, I feel sorry for this system which has not punished them even after the expiry of 22 years, she said. (KDC)
