Srinagar, After the government submitted that it has notified the Model Solid Waste Management Bye Laws, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court directed it to provide all details “positively” within three weeks.

As the hearing of a PIL started before a bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Puneet Gupta, B. A. Dar, Sr. AAG, submitted that the Government of erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir has notified the Model Solid Waste Management Bye Laws.

“However, no report with regard to the notification thereof by local authorities has been placed before us,” the court observed, according to GNS .

“The respondents shall ensure that the details of the local authorities including all Panchayats / Municipal Corporations / Municipal Councils / Municipal Committees / Development Authorities / local authorities in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh are placed before us in a tabulation which shall include a column giving us the date on which the Panchayats / Municipal Councils / Municipal Committees / local authorities have notified the Solid Waste Management Bye Laws,” the court said, adding, “This shall be positively filed before the Court within three weeks.” (GNS)
