Anantnag August 25: Ilyas Ahmed Dar, who had gone missing the last month has issued a fresh audio announcing that he has joined the Militancy in Kashmir.

A resident of Dandweth pora in the Kokernag belt of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) area, Ilyas Ahmed, had gone missing on Juky 23, when he left his home for some work.

A Security official confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that Ilyas had joined the Militant ranks shortly after he went missing. Earlier speaking to The Kashmiriyat the family of Ilyas Ahmad Dar, had urged him to return. The family has also appealed to the Government to trace their 23-year-old son.

Talking to The Kashmiriyat his relatives said, “We contacted all relatives and his friends but no one was able to provide any clue about him and later we lodged a missing report at the concerned police station.”

A senior police official posted in the area, while confirming that his missing report was lodged, said, “Reports suggest that the person has joined Hizbul Mujhadin militant organization, but we are not sure.”

The audio message of Ilyas is doing rounds on the social media.

As per a recent report more than ninety youth have joined Militant ranks till the August 01, 2020, despite a massive crackdown being launched against the Militancy, which brew up in the aftermath of the killing of local Militant commander, Burhan Wani in July 2016.

Hundreds of local youth took to Militancy, which had lost space among the local populace in the Himalayan region over which India and Pakistan have fought three wars.
