Sopore, Aug 26 (KNO): A woman who sustained severe burn injuries yesterday, succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday at Srinagar’s SMHS hospital.

Pertinently, the woman had allegedly set herself ablaze at her home in Naseerabad area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a woman allegedly set herself ablaze by  pouring kerosene oil over her body. They said her husband reportedly managed to douse the fire but both received severe burn injuries.

She along with her husband was rushed to hospital where from they were referred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at SMHS hospital in Srinagar where she succumbed to her injuries today.

Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) Sopore, Azim Khan confirmed to KNO that the woman has succumbed to her injuries at SMHS hospital.

The investigation is on to ascertain as to why the victim had taken this extreme step, he said, adding that a case has been registered in Police Station Sopore—(KNO)
