SRINAGAR : National Conference Senior Leader and former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Wednesday felicitated people on the annual Urs-e-Mubarak of Hazrat Mir Baba Hyder Sahib (RA) which will be celebrated on Friday 28 Aug. In his message issued to press, Ishfaq Jabbar said Hazrat Mir Baba Hyder (RA)’s timeless values and teachings continue to guide people towards the righteous path of selfless devotion, spirituality and servitude.

Mr Jabbar while greeting the people said that Hazrat Mir Baba Hyder (RAH) was one among the galaxy of saints who had devoted their life in search of truth and self actualization.

Recalling the contribution of Hazrat Mir Baba Hyder (RAH) in the spiritual and social awakening of the people of the region, the former MLA said the society ought to emulate the teachings of moral values, communal harmony, brotherhood and welfare of masses in our present system which were practiced by the late saint during his lifetime.

He said that the need of the hour is to emulate the teachings of such Sufis in our day to day lives. The message of the Sufis is universal which transcends all boundaries.

While extended greetings to the people of Tullamulla and other areas of the district, Jabbar hoped that the Urs Mubarak would be confined to the homes in line with the coronavirus restrictions.

“Please stay safe and keep your families safe during the COVID19 pandemic by praying and celebrating at home and by following the safety protocols”, Jabbar added.

He appealed the people to maintain social distance while praying at home as it is one of most important weapons to defeat COVID-19 and definitely Allah will give us strength and soon normalcy will return.

“I pray that the day fills our lives with peace particularly during existing times when humanity is going through ineffable, yet palpable miseries both inside and outside J&K due to the COVID-19 crises,” he said.
