The 3rd National Snow Rugby Championship 2017 which commenced on February 18 concluded at Golf Course, Gulmarg with J&K men team registering the final victory by defeating Bihar by 17- 0. In this mega event J&K women team also won defeating Rajasthan by 10-0.
In this championship teams from Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and host Jammu and Kashmir took part in both men and women categories.
Speaking on the occasion MLA Tangmarg, Abbas Wani appreciated J&K Rugby Association for holding this mega event in Kashmir and said the Snow Rugby is a unique event which needs to be promoted on larger scale.
J&K Rugby Association extended gratitude to the Sports Council for sponsoring this event and Tourism Department for their support and assistance for making the event successful.
MLA Tangmarg Abbas Wani, Secretary Sports Council Waheed-ur- Rehman Parra, Members of the Sports Council, Raouf Tramboo and Nazir Ahmed were present on the occasion.
