Kulgam Tales: In a first, Village Level worker cracks KAS exam
27-year-old says didn’t allow internet blockade, 2-G speed break my resolve

Kulgam, Sep 30 (KNO): A village-level worker from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has cracked the KAS examination and has secured 34th rank.
Waseem Ahmad Ganaie (27) son of Mohammad Jabbar Ganaie, a resident of Devsar village of Kulgam, who is presently posted at district panchayat office Kulgam says his joy knew no bounds when he saw his name in the selection list on Tuesday.
Talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he said that he became happy because he had dreamed of this goal when he was in 9th standard and finally he achieved his goal today.
He said that he got the primary education in his native village studied and after completing my graduation, he was appointed in the education department in 2013 as class IV employee and later he was appointed in rural development department as VLW.
He said that despite facing various challenges, he continued his struggle and finally the result is before everyone.
“My father is ill since 1999 and I faced so many challenges to reach this stage,” he said, adding that poverty is no excuse provided you have the will to achieve your goal.
He also said that due to the internet blockade and 2G mobile internet services he faced many problems but he somehow managed and cracked the KAS in his second attempt.
“I was busy with the government job and could spare just 2-3 hours for my studies on daily basis to prepare for the KAS examination,” he said.
He said that his message to the youth of J&K would be that you can achieve any goal and you can crack any examination if you have the will power.
Waseem said that whatever post he will get his sole motive would be to serve people positively and honestly—(KNO)
