BDS defuses live shell in Kamalkote Uri

Uri, Nov 16 (GNS): Army on Monday detonated unexploded shell in Kamalkote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

There was heavy exchange of gunfire and Shells between the armies of India and Pakistan last Friday in Kamalkote and Hajipeer sectors of Uri, leaving four civilians and two soldiers dead.

A shell was found unexploded in residential house near Sageer Hussain Shah son of Nangh Ali Shah at Kamalkote and was defused by Army’s Bomb disposal squared ( BDS) today.

SDPO Uri confirmed that the live shell was detonated in the area. He said a police team was also on spot.
According to reports several live shells are lying in Hajipeer and Kamalkote sectors after last Friday’s incident. (GNS)
