Coronavirus: J&K Bank Staff Lends Helping Hand

SRINAGAR: Offering a helping hand to tackle the deadly pandemic caused by Coronavirus, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank family has decided to contribute three days’ salary towards the relief fund.
The decision to donate, as per the officials was taken jointly by the management and employee representatives of the bank.
Estimated to be around Rs 6.98 crore, the amount, a senior bank official said would be divided into two segments.
The major portion of Rs 5 crore would be contributed to J&K Relief Fund through its Lieutenant Governor and the rest of the amount would be contributed towards ‘Bank’s employee relief fund (COVID-19) for the welfare of any affected employee.
Pertinent to mention, in the past as well, the staff of J&K’s largest lender has chipped to offer monetary help in Kashmir and Kerala floods.
“It is our moral responsibility to help our fellow human beings,” an employee of the organisation said, besides putting extra efforts to keep operations going on.
