KARNAH CELEBRATES KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

Karnah kupwara : Kargil Vijay Diwas , commemorating victory of Indian Army in Kargil War 1999 , was celebrated today at Hajinar in Karnah by the locals and Shakti Vijay Brigade of Indian Army .

26 July , earmarks the 22 anniversary of the military victory on the icy heights of Kargil , the day when one of the most formidable military objective of the war , ‘Tiger Hill ‘ was captured by Indian Army.

As part of the celebrations , Indian Tricolour was hoisted at the venue which was followed by stellar musical performance by Shining Karnah Band , bhangra performance by troops , jazz band of army , school children of Army Goodwill School , Hajinar and musical play by Pahari Group .

The theme of the musical play was awareness on drugs menace in relation to the youths.40 minutes long play was well appreciated by the audience.

After the events, the participants were felicitated.Of special mention was the felicitation of six aarogya sevikas who have been leading the fight against drugs and COVID – 19 from village to village .

Speaking on the occasion , Brig SP Consul , Commander Shakti Vijay Brigade paid homage to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to achieve the victory in the war and also dwelled on the even more stronger bonding and co-operation between the Indian Army and the Karnahites .Refreshments were organized for all on the occasion.

After the event at Hajinar , a building renovated by Satat Vijeta Engineers Regiment in Govt Senior Secondary School , Nachiyan was inaugurated by the engineer officer and Mr Khalid Bhadana , Sarpanch of Nachiyan.

It would be pertinent to mention here that building was badly devastated by the flash floods in year 2018. The strenuous effort to renovate the building was highly appreciated by the teaching staff and the locals.A well stocked library was also inaugurated in the school wherein the books were arranged by Director, Libraries and Watershed Management, UT of J & K and Shakti Vijay Brigade.

Earlier sports equipment was also provided to this school by the Indian Army.

Covid – 19 protocols were followed during the celebrations .
