BJP and RSS will drown in its divisive politics
Srinagar, Sept 08, KDC: National Conference President Doctor Farooq Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State and incumbent Member of Parliament, on Tuesday said, that National Conference (NC) has never indulged in communal politics, when actually it is BJP and RSS, which are playing communal politics, which they will finally drown in.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah said this, while having an informal chat with media persons according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) at his father, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah’s grave at Naseem, where he had gone to pay homage to him, on his 38th death anniversary, reported a local news agency KDC.
Others present on the occasion include, Omar Abdulla, Member Parliament retired justice Hasnain Masoodi, Member Parliament from North Kashmir Mohammad Akbar Lone, Mustafa Kamal, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Sakina Yatoo, Shameema Firdous , besides several other leaders of the party.
He said, “Hindu Muslim Sikh unity has been our history, as it was the slogan of my late father, the founder of NC.”
While declining to comment on BJP’s Kashmir point man Ram Madhav’s recent comment, in which he termed Gupkar Declaration as anti-nationals, pro secessionist, misleading and deceptive, Dr. Farooq Abdullah refereed to his father’s slogan, “Sher-i-Kashmir ka kya irshad, Hindu Muslim Sikh Itehad.”
“The plight of all Kashmiris, regardless of their religion was miserable, which forced Sheikh Sahib to dissolve Muslim Conference and form a secular party National Conference instead,” he said.
“How have we become communal now, when history is witness to our secular character?” he added.
He said that National Conference does not believe in communal politics, it is BJP and RSS, which is playing communal politics and one day, they will be marooned in their divisive politics.
When asked about the abrogation of Article 370 and what NC is planning g to get it restored, Dr. Abdullah avoided the question and said, “It will be seen.” (KDC)
