Nizamuddin Bhat hails people of Bonakoot for massive support to PAGD during DDC election

Newly elected Sarpanchs and Panch call upon BDC Chairperson, DDC Candidate from Bonakoot block

Bandipora, Dec 06: Senior PDP leader on Sunday hailed the people of Bonakoot block in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district for extending massive support to PAGD in the DDC and panchayat by-polls that were held on Friday.

In a statement issued here, Bhat also hailed the election machinery and local administration for peaceful and smooth conduct of the election.

He expressed hope that the election machinery and administration will do nothing to subvert or undermine people’s verdict and will allow the democratic process to flourish.

He conveyed his greetings to the newly elected 37 panchs including 2 sarpanchs affiliated to the PDP and 7 others affiliated to the NC, who have been returned as panchs and sarpanchs with a massive mandate.

Meanwhile, most of the elected panchs and sarpanchs from PDP today called on block development council chairperson from PDP for Bonakoot block, Bashir Ahmad and PDP’s (PAGD) official nominee for DDC election from Bonakoot block, Abdul Ghani at their residences, where they expressed gratitude for people’s support despite odds.

They were warmly welcomed and garlanded. They pledged to work for the betterment of people and to follow agenda of PAGD and unanimously resolved not to allow propagandists to malign them.
