2 CRPF personnel, cop killed in attack

Baramulla, August 17: Two militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight at Kreeri village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

Official sources informed Kashmir Despatch that while chasing militants post attack on forces party at Kreeri in which two CRPF personnel and a cop were killed, a joint operation was launched in the area.

Sources said as joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

In the exchange of fire two militants were killed, while operation is in process official sources added.

A police officer also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch abouth the killing of two militants. He however, said the identification of both militants is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day post the attack Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar said that Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were involved in an attack on Security force at Kreeri Baramulla.
