Srinagar, Aug 31 (GNS): Lieutenant Governer-led Union Territory administration on Monday evening announced a seven-day state mourning over the demise of former President of India Pranab Mukherjee.

In an press handout received here, the adminstration has maintained that “As a mark of respect to Shri Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India, who passed away on 31.08.2020, the Government has decided that; a) Seven day State mourning shall be observed from 31.08.2020 to 06.09.2020 (both days invlusive); b) During the period of mourning, the National Flag shall fly at half mast on all buildings and places throughout the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment (sic.)”.

The decisions, as per the statement, are brought to the notice of all the concerned for information and necessary action. (GNS)
