CNS Ganderbal, Sep 8, 2020: The residents of Yachama Kangan in Ganderbal district are worried about the bad condition of Road, as it is the only road connecting them with National Highway (NH1). According to them the project cost sanctioned was 800cr. Rupees.

Although the concerned authority took 5 years to complete the bridge connecting which paves way for 700 meters approaching the road.

While talking to CNS inhabitants of Yachama Kangan Said, “they are facing a lot of problems due to the dilapidated condition of the road despite assurances by the concerned department.

Residents claimed that the concerned authorities have failed to macadamize the road as they have already completed the Bridge which connects this road with National highway, Leh.

Locals said, “Walking on this road becomes difficult even when we have to walk for miles without any transport as no car or sumo can run on this road due to bad conditions.”

Residents have requested district administration particularly Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal and PCC department to look into their grievances and take necessary steps for their redressal.

When CNS contacted Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal he said, “ 2 kanals of land have already been acquired which comes in the way of approaching the road but its payment has not been done yet, when payment will be deposited , we will start the work.”

“Hopefully we will completely macadamize up to a month.” (CNS)
