Srinagar 27th of June, 2020; A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum comprising of Mr Mohmmad Ashraf Mir (Vice Chairman JKTF) , Mr Peer Nissar Ahmad (General Secretary JKTF) & Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Aftab Srinager met with Shri B K Singh Administrative Secretary Education Department at his office chamber civil Secretariat Srinager.
The delegation welcomed Shri B K Singh on taking the reigns of the Department of School Education in Jammu & Kashmir and at the same time the delegation extended its support & cooperation in implementing new schemes and initatives which would be taken by the chair in bringing the productive Changes in Department and system of Education. Meanwhile the leadership put farward a charter of demands which were discussed in length. The officer however, gave a patient hearing & assured the delegation that each and every issue will be taken up on priority.
The demands highlighted include:
1.Transfer policy in favour of Rehbar e Taleem Teachers who are badly suffering due to their long stay at a single place. The delegation requested the Chair to design a comprehensive transfer policy.
2.The delegation highlighted the issue of regularisation in favour of Rehbar e Taleem teachers who have not been regularized since long and even some of the them (ReT’s) have not been paid their salaries for last more than 18 months which has left them to starvation.
3.The delegation put forward the issue of Masters promoted in 2014 who have not been confirmed yet.
- The issue of teachers who are working on migrant substitute posts have been regularised in recent past but their service inclusion since their appointment in 1990 is still pending, was also discussed in length.
- The delegation discussed the issue of promoted officials to Gazetted cadre since 2011 which include Headmasters, ZEOS, Lectures, Principals, CEOS and JDs have been moving from pillar to post for their confirmation but no heed is paid to this burning issue which has badly affected the work culture in the Department of Education. Besides,Lecturers promoted after 2019 in various streams have not been even paid the charge allowances to the said promotees.
6 At the end the delegation put farward the demand of lectureres promoted in 2019 in science stream who are waiting for their adjustment in Directorate of School Education Kashmir while as their counterparts have already been adjusted by Director School Education Jammu.
